New Accomplishments!
After many attempts, Sarah’s determination has finally paid off. This evening she figured out how to roll herself from her back to her tummy! She has been trying to accomplish this new feat for a couple of weeks now and she was beginning to get frustrated because she could get her bottom half twisted around but her shoulders kept her from completing the roll. I worked with her on it tonight by tempting her with a rattle an she figured it out. She was so proud of her new ability that by the end of the night I would put her down on her back and she would immediately flip over to her tummy! Here is a video of her latest accomplishment:

In other news, we started a Parent-Tot swim class last week. Sarah pretty much screamed for the entire half hour. She did seem to enjoy floating on her belly on top of the kick board though. She didn’t really enjoy Gymboree too much at first either so I’m sure after a few more classes she will be a pro. We had to miss tonight’s swim class because Sarah has her first cold. She woke up Saturday morning with a runny nose and a cough. She was very fussy all day Saturday but we are treating her sparingly with some infant cough and cold drops and she seems to be doing better. She has been waking up once in the night and earlier than usual in the morning but I think this is due to the cold making it difficult for her to breathe.
She did surprise us last night by flipping onto her back and then putting herself back to sleep that way. We are so used to her screaming when she rolls onto her back that when we saw she had rolled over we just sat and waited for the crying to start but it never did! She did the same thing during her nap today so hopefully our middle of the night trips to roll her back over will stop soon! Also, for those of you that were wondering, at Sarah’s 4-month check-up she weighed 13 pounds 8 ounces (almost double her birth weight) and was 24 inches long. She is still in the 50th percentile for kids her age and the doctor gave her a clean bill of health!
